Vice President/Team Lead, Commercial Lending

Location: Milwaukee Metro Area

Our client has a community bank’s values with a big bank’s suite of products.  With $24 billion in assets, the bank engages in the business of providing traditional community banking services, wealth management services, commercial insurance premium financing, mortgage origination, short-term accounts receivable financing, and certain administrative services, such as data processing of payrolls, billing and treasury management services. The Company provides community-oriented, personal and commercial banking services to customers located throughout southern Wisconsin.

Position Profile

In this newly created role, the lender will be expected to focus 80% of his/her time on business development activities – selling loans and other generating products, developing a mid-market portfolio with credits up to $15 million. He/she will continue to be responsible for cross-selling all bank services and maintaining personal involvement with key accounts.  The lender is required to employ a variety of business development techniques to secure new customers.  This individual will be an active community member building a banking trust in present and future customers. He/she must be comfortable making business development presentations to a wide variety of business types and cross selling commercial/cash management products.

Position Requirements

The ideal candidate is a well-respected area lender with an established, successful presence in the market place and a robust center of influence. A proven track record working with a portfolio of at least $10 MM, credits up to $10MM and a minimum of 10 years commercial lending and C&I experience are required.  He/she will be knowledgeable of commercial credit lines as well as a variety of other loan and bank products to best serve the credit and deposit needs of the customer. Educational requirements include a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related discipline and an MBA is preferred. The successful candidate will also possess formal commercial credit training, excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong business/sales acumen.  A complete understanding of the art of making a sales call and relationship based sales with superb follow up are essential.
