Vice President, Commercial and Ag Lending

Position Profile

As a result of a retirement, this position offers the opportunity for an experienced, dynamic lender to play a key role in the growth and development of the Bank’s lending staff and customer base. This leader will be a voting member of the loan committee. He/she will join a team that is comprised of 6 commercial lenders and credit analysts. The staff is loyal, dedicated and has a long tenured commitment to delivering exceptional service to customers and the communities’ they serve. The incumbent will manage a healthy portfolio of over $20 million with a mix of 50% agriculture, primarily made up of grain and ag related industries, and 50% commercial.  This role has an annual growth goal of $10 million in new credits. The calling area includes Stephenson, Boone, & Ogle counties but is not restricted to that geography. The lender is responsible for selling across a full suite of cash management products and services utilizing resources from throughout the organization. He/she is required to employ a variety of business development techniques and sound credit analysis to serve new and existing customers.  This individual will be active in his/her center of influence; continually building a banking trust in present and future customers and taking on leadership roles in the community.

Position Requirements

The ideal candidate is a well-respected lender with an established, successful presence in the marketplace, a robust center of influence and the ability to initiate and develop prospective customers and cultivate current client relationships. A proven agricultural and commercial lending track record working with a portfolio of at least $20 million; comprised of relationships with companies with annual revenue of $1 million to $50 million and a minimum of 10 years lending experience are required. A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related discipline is a must.  The successful candidate will also possess a strong background in commercial and ag credit analysis/underwriting and compliance. He/she must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.  Strong business/sales acumen, exceptional relationship based sales skills and superb follow up are essential.
