Vice President, Commercial Lending

Location: Hibbing, MN

Position Profile

In this newly created role, the Vice President, Commercial Lender joins an existing team of bankers in the Hibbing, MN market with a support system based in Duluth. He/she will assume an existing $10 million portfolio serving main street business lending needs with a strong mining industry emphasis.  The lender will focus on general community bank lending while developing and expanding client relationships. The lending sweet spot will be loans ranging from $250,000 to $5 million. This position is responsible for selling across a full suite of cash management products and services and maintaining personal involvement with key accounts.  The lender is required to employ a variety of business development techniques and sound credit analysis to serve new and existing customers.  He/she will be knowledgeable of commercial credit lines as well as a variety of other loan and bank products to best serve the credit and deposit needs of clients.  This individual will be active in his/her center of influence; continually building a banking trust in present and future customers.  He/she must be comfortable making business development presentations to a wide variety of business types and cross selling commercial/cash management products.

Position Requirements

The ideal candidate is a well-respected lender with an established, successful presence in the marketplace and a robust center of influence. The candidate must have a proven commercial lending track record working with a portfolio of at least $5MM; comprised of relationships with companies with annual revenue of $1 million to $50 million and a minimum of 10 years commercial lending and relationship management experience.  A bachelor’s degree in business, finance or accounting or equivalent combination of experience and education is required.  The successful candidate will also possess a strong background in financial and commercial credit analysis. He/she must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.  Strong business/sales acumen and a complete understanding of the art of making a sales call and relationship based sales with superb follow up are essential.
